My first day back to trading after Covid was a great one.  I never set limitations on myself like a set profit target or a certain amount of trades per day, but I merely trade what is in front of me.  I know that over a certain timeframe that my strategy will work out very well.

That is what trading is all about in my opinion.  We have our method, and play the law of large numbers.  The math has to be allowed to be on our side.

The market has moved very well prior to us being alive.  It will move very well long after we are gone.  The key take away here is that it moves.  We do not force the market to move.  Our job is to simply detect movement that we have seen before, and to employ a setup.

So often people ask questions like, I am profitable 3 days in a row, but then have a losing day that wipes out all my profits.  Or, my bad days engulf my winning days.  The reason for this a lot of times is mindset, but it also can be a lack of respect for the market.

A professional surfer respects the ocean.  You wouldn’t see them trying to surf during a hurricane.  They respect the power of the waves, and currents.  So to must we respect the power of the market.  Markets can move quick and news can give event risk.

With that said, let’s get into today.  It was a great day.

Lately, the ES market has been moving very well.  This definitely helps our trading.  However, if we can take advantage of some moves, it is great to do a small celebration upon our trading review session.
